The Pacific Northwest is, quite honestly, my favorite part of the country for image-making. I first discovered the wonders of Olympic National Park in Washington in the summer of 1978 while on an 11-week trip to twelve western national parks with a friend from high school. I'll never forget camping on a wilderness beach, backpacking into Seven Lakes Basin, and trekking through the Hoh Rainforest. Since then I have returned often to the Olympics. Of course, there is much more to the Pacific Northwest. I was once lost for a short time in Mt Rainier National Park when thick fog unexpectedly moved in. More recently, I have experienced the joys of photographing the Oregon coast and the waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. There is so much to see and photograph in this part of the country. I look forward to many more return trips...
