How do I pick some of my favorite images when I’ve experienced so many fantastic moments over the years? It’s a difficult task at best. Many of my most memorable moments have occurred in conditions that were fleeting – a passing storm; a perfect cloud formation, a dramatic sunset. These transitory moments in nature are the ones that excite me the most. Other favorites stand out due to the difficulty involved in capturing the image – a predawn climb of a mountain; braving a winter wind; standing in a cold lake. Others choices were undoubtedly influenced by sounds and smells. In the end, these images speak to me of a world that is still staggeringly beautiful, despite the large amount of damage we humans have done to it in the name of progress. We have been entrusted with the responsibility to be good stewards of the earth. Hopefully, these images will encourage us all to rise to this challenge.
